about us

Nassau Pride Hoops, founded in 2013, is a Long Island-based AAU basketball organization offered for boys and girls of multiple age brackets. From 8U (3rd Grade) right up to the Varsity level, our coaches can provide you son or daughter with the skill set necessary to take his or her game to the next level. While our beginner teams participate in local programs geared towards development, our more experienced teams will compete in many of the top tournaments in the Tri-state area. While the Pride provides its members with an enhanced skillset, we place a great emphasis on teaching teamwork to our players. In our eyes, a strong team is far greater than a couple of good players.

We here at the Pride breathe basketball, and hope to share our love of the game to all willing to join us on our journey towards success.

director bio

Nassau Pride Hoops was founded by Joe Toner and his wife Kimberly in 2013. During his years at Chaminade High School, Joe excelled as a dual-sport athlete. In baseball, he was a two time all-CHSAA selection and was selected as a Daily News All-Star his senior year.  Joe's basketball accomplishments were just as impressive. Joe was a member of the team that gave Chaminade High School its first Catholic League Title in the schools history. He would go on to become a two time  all-CHSAA  player and was selected to the All Long Island team his senior year. Joe received a full scholarship to play baseball at St. Johns University. Although he would play baseball in college, Joe's love for the game of basketball would follow him long after school. Even to this day, Joe is dedicated to teach his players the skills that he worked so hard to acquire.
